Eagles Complete Successful Second Weekend of the Fall Season

CAMBRIDGE, Conn. –  Boston College Sailing completed its second weekend of the fall season by competing in two races, The Hatch Brown Trophy and the NEISA Singlehanded Championship.Â
The Eagles started off the weekend with an impressive performance at the Hatch Brown Regatta, placing third overall as a team with 138 points. The A division team of Michael Kirman and Sara Schumann had four top-five finishes in the seven races they competed in, totaling 39 points for the Eagles. The B division team of Colleen O'Brien and Libby Redmond placed top five in three of the seven races, including two top three finishes. Yale University and Harvard University rounded out the top three finishers. Eighteen total teams competed at this event.Â
Boston College also competed in the NEISA Singlehanded Championship hosted by Brown University. The Eagles had two top-20 finishes on the weekend, with Aidan Cunningham and Tor Svendsen totaling 206 points each. Cunningham completed the weekend with four top-15 finishes, including one top five finish. Svendsen also had a successful weekend, placing top-15 in four races and top-10 in two. Coast Guard, Harvard, Brown, and Yale all had sailors finish in the top five overall, with Nicholas Reeser of the Coast Guard placing first.Â
