Eagles Undefeated in BC-Harvard Cohost

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College topped Merrimack College in three clean sets, 25-15, 25-17, and 25-21. Leaving the Eagles 4-0 on the weekend, extending to a nine game win streak.
Set one was dominated by the Eagles, going on a 13-3 run. Sparked by back-to-back aces by senior Grace Penn. Freshman Brooklyn Yelland closed set one on an ace, 25-15. The Eagles had five aces in set one, one by senior Sophia Lambros, and two by Yelland and Penn.
The Warriors came out strong in set two staying within five until the Eagles went on a 7-0 run led by senior Alayna Crabtree to close out the set 25-17.
The Eagles started set three on an ace by freshman Brooklyn Yelland, to be met by a back-and-forth last set. The Warriors were within one eight times over the last set, the victory was sealed on a freshman Audrey Ross kill, 25-21.
Senior Katrina Jensen and Ross led the offense with ten and nine kills respectively. Jensen netted the kills on a .300 attack rate, while Ross added on two blocks. Senior libero Anna Murphy led the match with 18 digs, double the next match leader. Sophomore Grace Milliken led the match with seven blocks, adding on three kills. Senior setters Lambros and Penn guided the offense with 33 assists.
The Eagles finished the BC- Harvard Cohost 4-0 at home, winning all in three sets. The Eagles extend to a 9-0 win streak, winning 27 of the 28 sets played in the past nine matches.
The Eagles begin ACC play on the road against Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind. on Friday, Sept. 22 at 6:30 p.m.
