Eagles first scrimmage in the books from Fish Field House
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – An early morning rain forced Boston College football inside for its first intrasquad scrimmage on Sunday inside Fish Field House, running at thud tempo in full pads.Â
First Song in Team Flex:Â Crunk Ain't Dead (Duke Deuce)
Offensive Highlights:Â Pat Garwo III was featured heavily in the run game on the first few series. Alex Broome scored the first touchdown of the day on a great bounce to the outside after taking the handoff, getting the edge and taking it in for a long rushing score. Emmett Morehead converted consecutive first downs to Lewis Bond and Charlie Gordinier. Morehead scored his first TD of the day on the ground, keeping it himself for a rushing TD up the middle. Bond logged receptions and first downs from both QBs today.Â
Defensive Highlights:Â Elijah Jones made a leaping deflection in the back corner of the end zone, preventing a TD on a fade to Ismael Zamor. The defense consistently got to the backfield, breaking up several attempted screens and throws to the flat, including a nice PBU from Edwin Kolenge, who earlier pressured Morehead from the pocket, on a WR screen on third-and-long. Khris Banks picked up a sack on third-and-nine. Kahlil Ali logged an interception on the sideline in 7-on-7s, jumping the route.Â
Tempo, End of Game Situation:Â Thomas Castellanos found Lewis Bond on the first play of twos for a first down. Castellanos later found Jaedn Skeete in the corner of the end zone for a touchdown on the following play.Â
