BC wide receiver among 136 college football peers that go above and beyond in play, school and their communities.
NORTHBROOK, Ill. -- Boston College senior wide receiver Taji Johnson (Poweder Springs, Ga.) is one of 136 student-athletes from across college football to be nominated for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. The 22-member team honors individuals who go above and beyond in play, school and their communities.
Johnson repeats as a nominee for the Good Works Team after being nominated in 2022. For the second consecutive year, Johnson is also representing Boston College as a participant in the ACC Unity Week service trip, which this year is in Washington, D.C. from Juy 10-12.
On the Heights, he is active in BC athletics' student-run Eagles For Equality group as a committee member. Johnson is also the president of the Black Male Initiative to provide a voice for the unheard. He and the BMI group have hosted two cookout and basketball tournaments to bring together different on-campus groups during the spring semester since 2022.
On the field, Johnson played in all 12 games as a junior in 2022 and caught nine passes for 91 yards.
A Panel Chooses the Team
The final 22-member team and honorary coach are selected by a voting panel of former Allstate AFCA Good Works Team members, current and former head coaches and journalists. They look for exceptional leadership on and off the football field.
