Eagles Sweep Syracuse to Close Out Season

BC takes down Syracuse 4-2, get their first ACC series sweep of the season
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Boston College defeated Syracuse 4-2 on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles finished off their season today with a win to improve their 2023 season record to 24-28 and 6-18 in ACC play while the Orange conclude their season with 23-25-1 and 7-15-1 in the conference.Â
BC once again took a lead early in the game as they have in every game of this series. They rattled off a three run second inning on an RBI double from Sophomore Kali Case to bring Zoe Hines home and another base hit from Junior Nicole Giery that saw Case and Gianna Sarlo get in for scores.Â
Abby Dunning and the Eagles defense stifled Syracuse for much of the game but the Orange were able to respond in the fourth inning to cut the BC lead to 3-2. Then in the seventh inning, Senior Abigail Knight made her last at bat of her BC career count as she homered to give her team a 4-2 lead and a game three win.Â
Dunning pitched another rock solid game for Boston College, she pitched a complete game, recording five strikeouts and allowing just six hits and two earned runs in 25 at bats. She improves her record as a starter to 13-11 on the season.Â
