Four-run fourth adds up in 4-2 defeat.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – No. 9 Boston College baseball was swept by No. 17 Louisville following a 4-2 loss at Jim Patterson Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles fell to 21-9 on the season and 8-7 in the ACC, while the Cardinals moved to 24-7 and 7-5.

All four Louisville runs came in the fourth inning, beginning with a leadoff-home run by first baseman Ryan McCoy. BC junior right-hander John West (Shrewsbury, Mass.) was lifted a batter later due to injury. The Cardinals went on to score four runs on four hits and a dropped third strike.

Louisville RHP Carson Liggett (7-0) went seven-shutout innings in the win. He scattered five hits and a walk with six strikeouts. West (1-2) allowed two runs on three hits and a walk with five strikeouts in three-plus innings.

Graduate catcher Peter Burns (Reading, Mass.) led the BC lineup with a 2-for-4 effort with a double.
