
Ally VanTimmeren and Ava McGee Named to 2022-23 ACC All-Academic Team

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Ally VanTimmeren and Ava McGee represented Boston College women's basketball as the two members on the ACC All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference office on Thursday.Â
VanTimmeren, a management major, played in all 33 games with six starts. The Michigan native led the team in scoring off the bench, averaging 5.7 points per game, and made a career-high in field goals and free throws made.Â
Five of VanTimmeren's six outings in double figures came in ACC play, including a career-high tying 17 points on 8-for-9 shooting against Pittsburgh on Jan. 29. VanTimmeren pulled down a personal-best 10 rebounds against Eastern Kentucky, while her best stretch of the season came over seven games, where she averaged 9.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and shot 58.7 percent from the field.Â
Also a management major, McGee appeared in 27 games in her first season with the Eagles. The guard for BC scored a career-high six points against No. 6 Notre Dame and Wake Forest. She pulled down a personal-high seven rebounds against the Blue Devils as well. McGee averaged 12.2 minutes of playing time over the last seven games, highlighted by 26 minutes against the Demon Deacons in the regular-season finale.Â
Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0-grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. In addition, student-athletes must compete in at least 50 percent of their team's contests.
