Boston College and Harvard Begin 70th Beanpot on Monday

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College and No. 8 Harvard open up the 70th Beanpot on Monday night at TD Garden in the first semifinal with faceoff set for 5 p.m. live on NESN. Radio coverage begins at 4:45 p.m. on WEEI 850 AM and BCEagles.com. BC is looking to hoist its first Beanpot trophy since 2016 and its 21st overall.
SETTING THE SCENE
• The Eagles are currently just below .500 overall at 9-10-6 with a 5-7-5 mark in Hockey East play, while the Crimson sits at 15-6-1 overall and 13-4-0 in the ECAC
• Boston College reached the Beanpot Championship Game for the 36th time in 2019 but fell to Northeastern 4-2 after edging Harvard 2-1 in the semifinal
• This will be the schools' 46th all-time meeting in the Beanpot with BC leading 30-14-1
• Harvard's 5-4 overtime win in the 2018 Consolation Game is the Eagles' only Beanpot loss to the Crimson since 1998, a 14-1-1 stretch over 16 games

THE LAST MEETING

LAST TIME OUT
• Boston College and No. 15 UMass Lowell skated to a 2-2 tie on Friday at the Tsongas Center as the River Hawks earned an extra league point by winning the shootout

• Junior assistant captain Trevor Kuntar posted his ninth goal of the season, while Andre Gasseau assisted on both Boston College goals
