Eagles Earn Four Top-20 Finishes at EISA Championships

WILMINGTON, N.Y. – Boston College skiing earned four top-20 finishes at the season-ending EISA Championships over the weekend, hosted by St. Lawrence at Whiteface Mountain.Â
Junior captain Morgan Ellis had the team's best performance of the competition, placing 11th overall in Friday's giant slalom for her best career finish. Ellis also led the women in Saturday's slalom event with 23rd overall.Â
The men's team finished third overall in the slalom with three skiers in the top-20: graduate student Spencer Smith (13th) and freshmen Bode Flanigan (16th) and Ryan Bianchi (19th). Senior captains Will Kornya (37th) and John Bianchi (44th) also finished the slalom in their final collegiate race.
Flanigan took 22nd overall in the men's giant slalom on Friday to lead the Eagles, capping off his impressive rookie campaign, followed by Kornya (40th) and Bianchi (45th).
Boston College also competed in a giant slalom event on Thursday at Whiteface, a makeup for the postponed GS at the St. Michael's Carnival. Ellis led the team with 27th place, followed by sophomore Lauren Hunter (31st) and senior captain Sophia Staudenmayer (33rd).
The EISA Championships marked the final carnival of the 2023 season for BC.
