Eagles Best 10 School Records at ACC Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Boston College men's and women's swimming & diving teams broke a total of 10 school records this week at the ACC Swimming & Diving Championships. The men's side placed 12th (158 points), while the women's team finished 12th (179 points).
North Carolina State University took home the men's team championship, scoring 1615 points throughout the week. They were followed by Virginia Tech (1008 points), Louisville (981.5 points), Virginia (946 points), and Notre Dame (799.5 points).
The University of Virginia secured the championship on the women's side, totaling 1536 points. North Carolina State University (1272 points), Louisville (1077.5 points), North Carolina (813 points), and Duke (718.5 points) rounded out the top five.
RECORD SETTERS
The 800 Free Relay team of Adair Sand, Megan Kramer, Ella Derby, and Julienne Saliou kicked off BC's record-breaking streak with a school record time of 7:21.71 on the first day of events.
Katie Drumm, Sofia Zinis, Gigi Baldacci, and Lauren Sielicki followed suit the next day by setting a new school record in the 200 Free Relay (1:30.93). Zachary Szmania also made the Eagles record books on day two - setting a new school best in the 500 Free (4:25.29).
All eyes were on Jack Doyle on day three - as the sophomore broke the school record in the 400 IM twice to finish 13th overall with a best time of 3:48.11.
Day four saw two individuals as well as two relay teams break school records. Bryce Henkel set a new school best in the 200 Fly (1:45.31) while Gigi Baldacci recorded a new record in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:01.34. She would later go on to help break BC's 400 Medley Relay record alongside Katie Drumm, Samantha Smith, and Lauren Sielicki (3:40.04). The men's 400 Medley Relay team of Michael Horkan, Bryce Henkel, Matt Szekely, and Jack Doyle followed the women's example and set a new school record with a time of 3:13.69.
The 1650 Free kicked off the final rounds of day five early and Zachary Szmania picked up right where he left off - setting a new school record in the 1000 Free during his 1650 swim with a time of 9:14.08.

The Eagles will travel to Morgantown, W.VA to compete in the NCAA DI Zone A Diving Championships from March 6-8.
