Eagles practiced at thud and tag tempo with nine days until the Fenway Bowl
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Boston College football worked at both thud tempo and tag tempo on Tuesday morning inside Fish Field House, ramping up the contact and intensity with nine days to go until the Fenway Bowl against SMU. Several different receivers impacted the passing game and all three quarterbacks performed well from the pocket.Â
First Song in Team Flex: Rumors, Gucci Mane feat. Lil Durk
Offensive Notes: Alex Broome looked explosive on the ground all morning, finding gaps in the line and showing strong burst in the open field…Thomas Castellanos showed great chemistry with receivers Lewis Bond and Jaedn Skeete… Castellanos and Skeete connected early and often on Tuesday, including a great diving catch from Skeete on a slant over the middle in 7-on-7 work…Castellanos capped off a strong day in the final team session, with an excellent read to find Alex Broome wide open out of the backfield for chunk yardage, a completion to Bond who made a nice leaping catch, and consecutive first downs to Skeete along the sideline…Jacobe Robinson produced on the ground and through the air with the twos, and Matthew Rueve had a good passing day with the twos, including a beautiful floated pass to Datrell Jones for a big gain on a wheel route out of the backfield...Nate Johnson consistently found gaps in the secondary today and logged a few nice catches and runs.
Defensive Notes: Isaiah Farris logged the first PBU of the day on a great jumping play in the first team session… Jalon Williams broke up a crossing route with a nice play on a quick throw… Kam Arnold picked up the first INT of the day, reading a pass perfectly over the middle and jumping it for the interception and return… Max Tucker picked up an interception in the final team session and ran it for a nice return… Gilbert Tongrongou and Jason Scott punctuated the final team session by blowing up a run play for a loss in the backfield.Â
