
Balanced Offense Leads BC Past Siena

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College women's basketball dealt Siena an 88-59 defeat on Sunday afternoon inside Conte Forum. The Eagles win their third straight game to improve to 6-5, while the Saints fall to 3-4.Â
It was a balanced scoring effort with five players scoring in double figures for the third time in four games. Teya Sidberry put on an efficient performance with 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting, tied a season best with nine rebounds, and posted three steals.Â
Andrea Daley netted 14 points on 6-of-9 with four boards, while Dontavia Waggoner stuffed the box score with 13 points, seven rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a game-high plus-23.Â
Kayla Lezama came off the bench to pour in a career-best 13 points. T'yana Todd rounded out the leading scorers with 10. Kaylah Ivey dished out a game-high eight assists with six points.Â
The Eagles got off to another quick start, hitting six of their first 11 shots en route to a 14-7 lead. BC went into the second frame with a 22-11 advantage after Kayla Lezama scored five straight points to stretch the lead. The defense held Siena to just 4-of-17 shooting from the floor.Â
BC stayed in control despite the Saints cutting the lead to seven. A Sidberry layup late in the second gave the hosts a 34-21 lead. Siena scored the final six points of the half, giving the Eagles a 34-27 edge going into the break.Â
It was all Boston College in the second half, scoring 25 and 29 points, respectively in the last two quarters. The offense ended the third on a 15-8 surge over the final 4:50 to push the lead to 16 at the end of the quarter.Â
The Eagles pulled away in the final frame, building a lead by as much as 29 after a Lezama jumper.Â
BC dominated the paint with a 56-26 showing inside and scored 27 points off 24 turnovers.Â
Boston College has a quick turnaround with an 11 a.m. game on Tuesday against Stonehill inside Conte Forum for Elementary Day.Â
