Five Setter Goes to the Eagles

RALEIGH, N.C.- The Boston College volleyball team went the distance for a 3-2, five-set victory over NC State on the road Friday night. The Eagles improved to 16-12 overall and 5-9 in the ACC.
The first set was back-and-forth, ultimately falling to the Wolfpack 25-22. NC State carried over the momentum into the second with a 25-22 win. The Eagles fought back tying up the third midway through the set, carrying the energy to a 25-22 win. The Eagles pulled even with a 25-23 win in the fourth and clinched the night with a 15-7 decisive fifth set.
Freshman outside hitter Audrey Ross, who also knocked down the game-winner, led the team with 17 kills on a .375 hitting percentage, a career high for Ross. Ross appeared in the last four sets of the match adding four blocks, three digs, and one assists grabbing 21 points for the Eagles.
Freshman outside hitter Halle Schroder added 14 kills and 16 digs, for her fourth double-double of the season.
Senior libero Anna Murphy posted 22 digs and four assists. Senior setter Sophia Lambros led the night with 39 assists, a career high. She added 11 digs, for her sixth double-double effort of the year.
Boston College is back in action on Friday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. against NC State in the Margot Connell Recreation Center.
