Two Eagles Claim All-New England Honors

Mahogany, Pupel named to the All-New England Team by the New England Football Writers.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Boston College graduate students Christian Mahogany (Elmwood, N.J.) and John Pupel (Traverse City, Mich.) were both named to the All-New England Team by the New England Football Writers at the end of the 2023 regular season.
Mahogany, who missed all of 2022 due to injury, anchored the BC offensive line from the right guard position as the Eagles rushed for 193.5 yards per game; ranking third in the ACC and 18th in FBS. A two-time ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week, he accumulated a 79.3 pass block grade from PFF. On 394 pass dropbacks, Mahogany did not allow a single quarterback sack or hit this season.
Pupel, a walk-on and second-year graduate transfer from Dartmouth, started 11 of 12 games at strong safety this season after appearing in just four game on special teams a season ago. He was second on the team with 77 tackles and first with 6.5 tackles for loss. Pupel recovered a game-cinching fumble against Holy Cross and forced a game-clinching fumble at Army.
