BC Defeats Syracuse in Four Sets

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Boston College volleyball team defeated Syracuse in four sets on the road Friday night. The Eagles record moves to 17-13 overall and 6-10 in the ACC.
The first set was back-and-forth, evening the score six times before the set closed in the Eagles favor, 25-22. Syracuse secured the second early taking a seven point lead, finishing the set 25-17. The Eagles fought back in the third set dominating with a 8-1 run, claiming the set 25-12. The Eagles clinched the night on a .480 hitting percentage in the fourth, with a decisive 25-12 final set.Â
Senior outside hitter Katrina Jensen, led the team with 15 kills adding on four blocks. Freshman Sam Hoppes followed with nine kills hitting .529 on the night adding four digs and three blocks. Jensen tallies her sixth straight match adding 10+ kills.Â
Senior libero Anna Murphy led the night with 17 digs, adding on two assists. Senior setter Sophia Lambros led the night with 26 assists, adding six digs and an ace. Junior Julia Haggerty led the Eagles with six blocks, tacking on three kills.Â
The Eagles defeated Syracuse for the first time on the road since 2014.
Boston College is back in action on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 4 p.m. against Wake Forest in North Carolina.
