Eagles Host First Home ACC Match-ups

Boston College hosts Wake Forest and Virginia Tech over the weekend
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - With two straight weeks on the road having wrapped for Boston College, the Eagles return home for a set of home matches this weekend against Wake Forest on Friday at 7 p.m. and Virginia Tech on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Boston College secured its first conference win of the season Sunday afternoon. Defeating the University of Virginia in four sets. Scores of the sets were 25-17, 23-25, 25-19, and 25-19. The Eagles are 12-6 on the season, and 1-3 in conference play.
Halle Schroder led the Eagles in kills, with 12. Hitting .265 on the afternoon. Anna Murphy and Schroder each tallied double figures in digs, while setters Grace Penn and Sophia Lambros led the way in assists. Lambros tallied on four service aces, matching her season best. Julia Haggerty posted six total blocks, followed by Cornelia Roach with five. The Eagles tallied 11 total blocks on the afternoon.
Friday night the Eagles meet the Demon Deacons at 7 p.m. in the Margot Connell Recreation Center. Wake Forest is 11-4 on the season, and 2-2 in ACC play. The Demon Deacons are coming off of a five set loss against No. 11 Georgia Tech last Sunday.
Sunday afternoon BC faces off against Virginia Tech at 1 p.m. in the Connell Rec Center. The Hokies are 10-5 on the season, and 0-4 in conference play. Virginia Tech lost in a five set match against Clemson last Sunday.
The Eagles return to action Friday Oct. 13 for the first of two home matches beginning against Duke, before an afternoon match-up against North Carolina on Sunday Oct. 15.
