Ben Hong ties for third place; fires final round 69
HAMPDEN, Mass. -- Boston College finished third at the UConn Invitational at GreatHorse, held Oct. 1-3.
Ben Hong tied for third, firing a final round 69 on Tuesday. Â Hong finished the tournament at 1-over, carding scores of 72 and 76 in the opening two days of play, respectively. Â He posted 38 pars.
Mac Bredahl tied for 10th place, finishing at 3-over. Â Bredahl registered scores of 74-72-73 during the 54 holes of play.
Cameron Harlock tied for 20th place. Â Harlock posted three consecutive scores of 74 for the tournament. Â He was second among all golfers in par 4 scoring (3.97 avg).
Markus Lam fired his best round as a collegiate player, opening with an even-par 72. Â Lam made nine birdies. Â He tied for 22nd place (72-76-75). Â Jack Pogorelc tied for 53rd place (74-82-76). Â Caden Burr, competing as an individual, tied for 62nd (82-79-76).
As a team, BC shot 881 (292-298-291) - only two strokes out of second place. Host UConn captured the team title (868). Â BC ranked second among the field in par 4 scoring (4.15 avg) and was third in par 5 scoring (4.87 avg). Â They led the tournament in total pars, with 174.
Boston College closes the fall slate on Oct. 16-17 at the Everett Buick GMC Classic in Little Rock, Ark.
