Sailing Places Top-Three at Open ACC's Round 1B

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –  Boston College Sailing completed its fifth weekend of the fall season by placing third at the Open ACC's Round 1B Regatta, hosted by Harvard.Â
The Eagles continued a fantastic fall season with another top-three placement at the Open ACC's Round 1B Regatta. Boston College totaled 190 points throughout the two days, placing behind second place Stanford (152) and first place Harvard (125). Coast Guard and Roger Williams rounded out the top-five of the eighteen teams that competed.
The A division team of Michael Kirkman, Sara Schumann (races 1-8), Aidan Cunningham (races 9-12), and Libby Redmond (races 13-14) finished fifth overall out of 18 teams, totaling 99 points. The group placed top-five in eight of fourteen races on the weekend.Â
The B division team of Colleen O'Brien, Michaela O'Brien (races 1-8), and Matt Budington (races 9-14) completed the weekend with eight top-five placements, including two first-place finishes. The trio totaled 91 points, placing them third overall within the B division behind Harvard and Stanford.Â
Up Next: The Eagles will compete in two events next weekend, NEISA Match Race Championship and the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship.
