
Eagles Upended by Clemson

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College women's basketball team fell to Clemson, 67-57, on Sunday afternoon inside Conte Forum.
The Eagles fall to 13-9 and 3-6 in ACC play, while the Tigers are 13-8 and 4-5 in the league.
Taina Mair led the team with 13 points, dished out six assists and grabbed five rebounds. She was the lone player in double figures, while Andrea Daley totaled nine points and seven rebounds. She was one of three Eagles with seven off the glass. JoJo Lacey and Maria Gakdeng scored eight points apiece.
It was a quarter of runs in the opening period, where BC trailed 5-0 early in the contest before going on a 10-0 run capped off by Daley scoring the final three points. The Eagles answered Clemson's 10 straight points by scoring the final six to end the quarter with a 16-15 lead.
Clemson took control of the contest in the second quarter when it outscored BC, 19-11. The Tigers scored eight straight points with the tied at 24. Lacey's buzzer-beating 3-pointer at the end of the first half sliced a 10-point deficit to seven going into the break.
The Eagles were able to bring the gap to four, but Clemson hit three of its five trifectas in the third and stretched its lead back to double digits. BC was able to come back to bring the lead back to single digits, but CU pulled away for the victory.
BC struggled on offense as it shot under 35 percent from the field and 3-point land.
Boston College aims to snap its four-game skid on Thursday when it travels to Coral Gables to face Miami at 6 p.m. on RSN.
