
Eagles Dominate Boston University in Another Record-Breaking Frenzy on Senior Day

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Eagles spent their senior day on another record-breaking spree against Boston University en route to a dominant 235-63 win on the women's side and a 198.5-98.5 victory on the men's side this afternoon. The Eagles claimed victory in 27 out of 32 events - including 13 events where BC swept the top-three.
RECORD SETTERS
In their last meeting at the Terrier Invitational, BC set 11 school records and six BU pool records in a first-place finish from both the men's and women's teams. This time however, the Eagles etched their names into the record books of the Margot Connell Recreation Center.
Adair Sand led the charge for the Eagles - breaking three individual pool records (100 free - 50.89, 200 free - 1:48.00, 200 back - 1:57.44) in addition to the 400 free relay pool record (3:26.88) alongside Kelly Scott, Gigi Baldacci, and Sofia Zinis.
Fellow relay teammate Gigi Baldacci broke pool records in the 100 (1:02.06) and 200 (2:15.10) breaststroke, while also securing another pool record as part of the 200 medley relay featuring Lauren Sielicki, Sofia Zinis, and Kelly Scott.
The men's relay teams also found record-setting success - with the team of Michael Horkan, Christian Perez-mari, Matt Szekely, and Darien Betances achieving a new pool record in the 200 medley relay (1:28.92). The 400 free relay team of Bryce Henkel, Matt Szekely, Charlie Clark, and Andres Wong set a new pool record with a time of 3:02.23
Megan Kramer set a pool and school record in the 1000 free with a time of 9:52.98. She was also able to set a new pool record in the 500 free (4:50.45).
Dale Nickerson broke the 3m diving school record with a score of 388.88 - qualifying him for the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships.
Zachary Szmania (1000 Free), Julienne Saliou (200IM), Jack Doyle (200IM), and Samantha Smith (200 fly) rounded out the record-breakers - with Szmania, Saliou, and Doyle setting new pool records while Smith recorded a new school record.
IN THE ZONE, DIVING ZONES
BC saw eight divers qualify for the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships this afternoon. Dale Nickerson, Josiah Klock, Angus Williams and Christopher Egan swept the top-four in both the 1m and 3m dives. While Nickerson walked away with the new school record for the 3m, Klock (380.35) and Williams (375.30) both topped the previous record as well.
The women's side saw Livy Poulin win both boards (1m - 302.4, 3m - 329.25) in dominant performances that solidified herself in the Zone A Diving Championships. Anna Mae King (1m - 296.33, 3m - 319.20), Jessica Tonole (1m - 280.20, 3m - 295.80), and Tierney Regan (1m 273.83) also put together impressive qualifying performances.
