BC caps undefeated weekend with 3-2 victory
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- The No. 21 Boston College Eagles (4-4, 1-0), secured their second straight victory on Sunday afternoon, taking down Monmouth 3-2 to get back to .500 on the season. Peyton Hale and Victoria Arra each scored their team-leading fourth goal of the season, and Sarah Johnson tallied her first of the year on an unassisted strike to begin the second half.
Hale and Arra close the weekend with two goals each, while Johnson and Martina Giacchino each added their third assist, and second in as many games. The defense held the Hawks to just three shots on goal, with Emily Gillespie logging a save in her second win of the season.Â
Coming off the conference upset on Friday, the Eagles close out a perfect weekend with a sound victory, out-shooting the Hawks 25-4, with a 9-2 penalty corner advantage.Â
Boston College will make its second road trip of the year next weekend, visiting No. 18 Duke on Friday night.Â
