» Boston College hosts Maine at Alumni Stadium in primetime on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 7:30 p.m.
» The Eagles are coming off a 27-10 loss at Virginia Tech and are 0-2 for the first time since 2011 and just the second time since 1994.
» BC has started a season 0-2 25 times, 12 of which occurred prior to 1950, and have finished .500 or better in six of the 13 occurrences since 1951; most recently a 7-4-1 campaign in 1994.
» The game will air across the ACC Regional Sports Networks, including NESN (following Red Sox coverage) and NESN+ in New England. Tom Werme (play-by-play) James Bates (analyst) and Lauren Jbara (sideline reporter) have the call.
» Coverage on the Boston College Sports Network begins 30 minutes prior to kickoff on WEEI 93.7 FM and 850 AM. Jon Meterparel (play-by-play) is joined on the call by former BC linebacker Pete Cronan in the booth and quarterback Scott Mutryn on the sideline.
» BC leads the series with Maine, 6-3, with six straight wins.
» Boston College opened the 2015 season with a 24-3 win over Maine. Tyler Rouse ran for 81 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
» Since the NCAA was first subdivided in 1978, the Eagles are 32-3 against Division I-AA or FCS opponents and have won 32 in a row. All three losses came in 1978.
» BC has faced Maine four times in that stretch, all since 2006 and including three times between 2012 and 2015, making the Black Bears the Eagles’ most frequent FCS opponent since 1985 when BC’s annual rivalry with Holy Cross ended.
» BC is 173-81-12 all-time against New England opponents and 33-3 since 1978; having won 33 in a row. The last loss coming to Holy Cross in 1978.
