Fifth day of preseason in the books; Eagles get Wednesday to rest.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Tuesday morning was the fifth preseason practice for Boston College football as it heads into its first off day since fall camp started on Friday. The Eagles were back inside Fish Field House for the start of practice before moving much of the session outside to the grass practice field. Players were in shoulder pads for the second day in a row and will have their first full pad practice on Friday.
Â
The Rundown: Prior to period one, the Eagles started with field goal outside, while receiver drills and quarterback-center work went on inside… team flex followed and for the second day in a row the playlist broke away from hip-hop to a Bruce Springsteen song; the players stretched with the soft crescendos of Clarence Clemons on the saxophone in "Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out" filling the air… back outside, tight end-safety and wide receiver-corner work began to develop… in the first team period, Jaiden Woodbey came away with an interception in coverage of George Takacs… Cam Horsley was routinely and quickly closing run gaps in the middle of the defensive front… the offense got big gains by Pat Garwo on back-to-back carries, including an explosive through the second level… a 7v7 period featured third-down work with an Emmett Morehead to Dino Tomlin connection highlighting the second team offense's series… one of the biggest pass plays of the day back in team saw Phil Jurkovec hit Lewis Bond across the formation, Bond then cut back at the sideline and exploded by the defender… in a "may-day" scenario and 18 second on the clock on third-and-7, the field goal unit rushed on to the field for Connor Lytton to drill a 32-yard FG in as time expired.
