Éabha O'Mahony Named to Republic of Ireland Roster Ahead of World Cup Qualifier

The Republic of Ireland Women’s National Team will face Georgia on June 27.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College women's soccer player Éabha O'Mahony has been named to the Republic of Ireland women's national team roster that will play an international friendly and a World Cup qualifying fixture later this month.
O'Mahony is one of nine defenders named to the 27-player roster that will face the Philippines in a friendly on June 19 before taking on Georgia in a 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup Qualifier for Group A on June 27.
O'Mahony, who started and played in 15 of BC's 18 contests as a first-year in 2021, has been a member of the senior women's national team since she was 15, making her debut in a friendly against the U.S. in August 2019. Most recently, she was named to the roster for World Cup qualifying back in April.
O'Mahony has played for her country's youth national teams in the UEFA qualifiers, captaining the 2018-19 Under-17 squad. In 2017, she was a member of the U-17 team that reached the UEFA finals.
