The Eagles entered the sixth trailing 5-2, but flipped the three-run deficit into a three-run lead. Junior second baseman Luke Gold (Ballston, N.Y.) tied the game with a two-run double and two batters later junior catcher Parker Landwehr (Baltimore, Md.) gave BC its first lead of the day on a three-run home run to left.

Two singles and two errors quickly tied the game for Notre Dame (28-10, 13-8 ACC) in the bottom of the sixth. The Irish went back in front on a grand slam by second baseman Jared Miller. In an inning that combined to take 58 minutes and saw 17 total runs scored, ND added an inside-the-park home run from center fielder Ryan Cole and a two-run shot by left fielder Jack Zyska.

Boston College (17-28, 4-20) loaded the bases in the seventh and eighth innings, but settled with just two runs in the seventh on a pair of RBI-groundouts. For the game, the Eagles were 0-for-5 with the bases loaded.

Freshman right-hander Sean Hard (Mahwah, N.J.) turned in a three-inning start with two runs against on four hits and a walk with four strikeouts. Fellow freshman RHP Eric Schroeder (Ridgewood, N.J.) was the first BC reliever of the game and he took the loss. Schroeder (0-5) allowed seven runs, four earned, on seven hits.

Lefty Jack Findlay threw 3.1 innings on one-run ball on three hits and two walks with two strikeouts. Right-hander Roman Kimball (4-0) got the win in one-third of an inning pitched; having allowed a run on one hit and struck out one.
