
Eagles Close IC4A Championship Strong

David Scherrer (1,000m) and Steven Jackson (mile) each place fourth on Sunday
BOSTON, Mass. — David Scherrer was fourth in the 1,000m and Steven Jackson finished fourth overall in the mile at the 100th IC4A Championship, held at the BU Track & Tennis Center.
Jackson clocked a time of 4:04.44 in the mile championship, closing the final 800m in 1:57 and the final 400m in 56.48. A day earlier, Jackson set a new Boston College record in the prelims - 4:01.98 - on Saturday. The sophomore opened in 62.81 seconds for 400m, 2:04.22 for the half-mile, and 3:05.27 for the 1,200m. Jackson kicked the final 400m in 56.73 seconds for the record, besting the previous mark of 4:02.26, set by Sean Sullivan in 2020. Â
Scherrer finished fourth in the 1,000m final, crossing the line in a season-best 2:24.09. A day earlier, Scherrer ran the second-fastest qualifier in a time of 2:25.91. Edward Tristine was 16th on Saturday, in a time of 2:29.26.
In Saturday's prelims, a pair of Eagles clocked a pair of personal-bests in the 800m. Adriano Barilla clocked 1:52.12, finishing in 21st place, while Eddie Kelly finished in 35th place in a PR of 1:53.41.
The quartet of Max McQuide, Jackson Sigalove, John Wacker, and Adriano Barilla ran a season-best 3:19.18.
As a team, Boston College totaled 10 points - good for 26th place.
