March 29, 2022 | Football
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College football team entered its fourth week of spring practice on Tuesday morning inside Fish Field House with practice No. 10 leading up to the Jay McGillis Memorial Spring Game on April 9.Â
First Track Heard During Team Flex:Â "All There" (Jeezy feat. Bankroll Fresh)
Locating the Ball: It was an active practice from the linebackers and secondary in pass coverage. Sophomore Bryce Steele moved to his left to pick off a pass over the middle and generated a long return up the left side. Vinny DePalma and CJ Burton both made instinctive reads to deflect short throws to the turf between the hash marks. Elijah Jones had tight 1-on-1 coverage against Zay Flowers on a lofted pass along the right sideline to force an incompletion. Jamareeh Jones also made a diving interception for the second team from a deep safety position.Â
Morehead on Target: Second team quarterback Emmett Morehead had an accurate morning through the air, especially on short to mid-range throws. The redshirt freshman connected twice with Taji Johnson over the middle and hit Dante Reynolds on quick timing throws to the outside along each sideline. Morehead, who saw his first career action last season in two games for the Eagles, also utilized his legs on several scrambles outside the pocket.Â
Final Sequence: The offense had the edge on the final play of Tuesday's session when Jaelen Gill adjusted against tight coverage to haul in a long pass from Phil Jurkovec to the right side for a first down.Â
