Spring Ball Notes: Practice No. 8

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College football team held spring practice No. 8 inside Fish Field House on Thursday morning leading up to the Jay McGillis Memorial Spring Game on April 9.
First Track Heard During Team Flex:Â "Ric Flair Drip" (Metro Boomin and Offset)
Finding Pay Dirt: Boston College continued to work on its execution deep inside the red zone on Thursday as a plethora of players found the end zone. Jaelen Gill caught a comeback route just inside the goal line on a low throw, then went up to secure a contested ball in the back right corner against tight coverage from CJ Burton. Zay Flowers had a pair of touchdown receptions from Phil Jurkovec on a lofted pass to the left and a short motion throw to the right. Jurkovec also hit tight end and former Notre Dame teammate George Takacs with a quick throw to the left on 3rd-and-goal. Jaden Williams secured a tough touchdown catch on a left sideline fade to close practice.Â
Get Involved: Redshirt freshman receiver Tony Muse made the most impressive play of Thursday's session, diving at full extension to catch an Emmett Morehead pass in the right corner of the end zone. Jackson Treister used his shiftiness to find pay dirt on a well-executed screen pass to the right side of the formation. Dante Reynolds collected two touchdowns for the second team offense with catch-and-runs from each flat. Taji Johnson also utilized his size on a throw to the back of the end zone between the hash marks. Andre Hines scored on the ground, taking a pitch to his right from six yards out.Â
Pro Day:Â The Eagles host their annual Pro Day on Friday inside Fish Field House. 14 members of the 2021 roster are expected to participate in front of a full slate of NFL personnel. ACC Network Extra will air a full recap of Pro Day with interviews at 7 p.m. on Friday night.
