
Taylor Soule Named to Cheryl Miller Top 10 Watch List

Boston College senior forward Taylor Soule was named to the Cheryl Miller Award Top 10 Watch List, announced on Wednesday by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.
Soule is one of two players (Emily Engstler - Louisville) from the ACC to garner national recognition.
The New Lebanon, N.H., native is averaging 15.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and one steal per game while shooting 51.8 percent from the field. She leads the Eagles in points, field goal percentage (with 200 attempts), is second in rebounds, and third in assists.Â
Soule is fifth in the ACC in scoring, second in field goal percentage, and tied for third with six, 20-point performances. She is third among active leading scorers in the ACC with 1,339 career points, while she is the only player in the league with at least 1,300 points, 600 rebounds, 150 assists, and 100 steals.Â
This season, she is one of nine players (only in the ACC) to average at least 15.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steals, and shoot 50 percent from the field. Soule is fourth all-time in school history in free throws made (362), 13th in points and 15th in rebounds (607). She is one of eight players in program history with at least 1,300 points and 600 rebounds.
She and the Eagles are in the final stretch of the season with six games left before the ACC Tournament. BC returns to action tomorrow against No. 5 NC State at 6 p.m. in Conte Forum.Â

About Cheryl Miller:Â
Cheryl Miller took women's basketball to a new level, literally and figuratively. With her tremendous leaping ability, athletic dexterity and grace, Miller established a legacy throughout her high school and college career that is unparalleled. Playing for Riverside Polytechnic High School (CA), in 1982, Miller set the single game scoring record of 105 points. As a collegiate forward at the University of Southern California from 1982 to 1986, Miller helped bring women's basketball to the forefront of American sports. In 1984, she led the Olympic team to gold averaging more than 16 points per game. Her superior athletic ability and engaging persona placed her among the elite in the world of college and professional athletics. In 1986, Sports Illustrated named Miller as the best male or female player in college basketball. In a spectacular career, Miller scored 3,018 total career points and was a four-time All-America. Miller was named Naismith Player of the Year three times and earned the Wade Trophy once. Miller was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 1999 and the FIBA Hall of Fame in 2010. Since retiring from professional play, Miller has had a very successful career as a WNBA GM, professional and collegiate coach, and sportscaster for TNT, ESPN and NBC for the 1996 Olympics.Â
