
Kristie Mewis Named to U.S. Soccer Roster for SheBelieves Cup

Mewis and the U.S. squad kick off the tournament on Feb. 17.
CHICAGO - Boston College women's soccer alumna Kristie Mewis has been named to the U.S. Women's National Team roster for the 2022 SheBelieves Cup in Carson, Calif. and Frisco, Texas.
The 2013 graduate is one of seven midfielders named to the 23-player roster that will kick off the tournament on Thursday, Feb. 17 against the Czech Republic. The tournament will continue with the U.S. facing New Zealand on Sunday, Feb. 20 before concluding against Iceland on Wednesday, Feb. 23.
Mewis most recently was a member of the U.S. squad that played Korea in two friendlies in October as well as the pre-SheBelieves Cup camp in January. The Hanson, Mass. native now has 33 caps, four goals and four assists for the senior national team. Mewis was a member of the U.S. squad that topped Australia, 4-3, to earn a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in August. Mewis was the first Eagle to compete in women's soccer at the Olympics since Laura Georges represented France at the 2012 London Olympics.
Mewis was recently traded to NJ/NY Gotham FC in the National Women's Soccer League.
In her time on the Heights, the Hanson, Mass. native recorded 116 points in 89 games. The three-time Hermann Trophy semifinalist tallied 39 goals and 38 assists as an Eagle.
