
Hot Shooting Leads BC to Season Sweep at Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Boston College women's basketball team dominated Syracuse in the regular-season finale, 91-75, on Sunday afternoon at the Carrier Dome.
BC improves to 19-10 and 10-8 in ACC action, while Syracuse falls to 11-17 and 4-14 in league action.
The Eagles ride into the ACC Tournament in Greensboro with momentum on their side, winning three of the last four games.
Cameron Swartz led the Eagles with a team-high 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field, added six rebounds and four assists. Her second 3-pointer of the game put her over 1,000 points for her career.
Taylor Soule shot 8-for-13 en route to 16 points, four rebounds and tied a personal best with six assists. Maria Gakdeng posted a second straight game in double figures with 14 points, eight boards, two assists, and two steals. Makayla Dickens came off the bench to score 12 points, grab six boards and dish out for helpers. Marnelle Garraud led the way with eight assists and dropped nine points.
The Eagles started the game on a blistering 21-4 run in the first 5:37 of the game. BC hit eight of its 10 shot attempts, including a 5-for-5 start from 3-point range.
BC's hot start continued as it went up by as much as 31 in the first half midway through the second quarter. The Eagles' defense suffocated Syracuse into going 5-for-30 at one point.
Seven straight field goals from the end of the first half into the third period stretched the lead to 62-26.
Syracuse did cut the lead down to 11 in the fourth period, but three straight layups Soule, Swartz and Dickens put the game out of reach for the Eagles' first season sweep over The Orange since joining the league.
BC will await its opponent for the ACC Tournament. It will be announced later in the evening.
