February 26, 2022 | Men's Hockey
BOSTON – Boston College dropped a 6-3 final against No. 13 Boston University in Hockey East play on Saturday night in the 286th Battle of Comm Ave at Agganis Arena.
The Eagles (11-17-5, 6-12-3 HEA) suffered their first defeat to the Terriers at Agganis since 2017, snapping a four-game unbeaten streak (3-0-1).
Luke Tuch and Dylan Peterson both scored twice for BU (18-10-3, 13-6-3 HEA) in the victory, while senior Jack McBain netted a pair of goals in his first game for the Eagles since New Year's Eve.
Boston University stormed out to a 3-0 lead through 20 minutes on goals from Tuch, Peterson and Wilmer Skoog, two of which came 15 seconds apart in the final two minutes of the frame.
McBain put Boston College on the board directly off an offensive zone faceoff at 7:29 of the second, but Peterson and Tuch answered with their second tallies of the night for a 5-1 cushion.
McBain converted a power play rebound following a Jack St. Ivany one-timer at 16:25 to pull the Eagles back within three.
A Brian Carrabes tip early in the third period restored a four-goal cushion for the Terriers. Casey Carreau went five-hole on a shorthanded breakaway later in the third to cap off the scoring.
The teams close the home-and-home series on Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. on NESN at Kelley Rink.
