Eagles Upended at Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Boston College women's basketball team fell to Florida State, 66-58, in the Dale L. Tucker Center on Thursday evening.Â
The Eagles fall to 16-10 and 7-8 in the ACC, while the Seminoles improve to 14-11 and 8-7 in the conference.Â
Cameron Swartz led the team with a game-high 22 points and tied a career-high with nine rebounds. She also led the team with four assists. Taylor Soule scored 16 points to round out the leading scorers. Maria Gakdeng grabbed nine rebounds on top of seven points and three steals.Â
It was an off-shooting night for the Eagles, where they shot 31 percent from the field and hit only two 3-pointers despite getting multiple open looks throughout the contest.Â
Florida State started slow on offense as well, shooting 3-of-15 from the field. However, the Seminoles shot over 50 percent through the final three periods of the game to come out with the win.Â
FSU led by as much as nine late in the fourth quarter before the Eagles fought back to slice the gap to four, 57-53. Swartz fired in eight straight points to give BC momentum.Â
The Seminoles responded by scoring on the next two possessions to stop BC from getting any closer, sealing the victory.Â
BC returns to action on Sunday at 12 p.m. against Wake Forest in Conte Forum for Senior Day.Â
