Eagles, Warriors Set to Meet for Hockey East Series

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women's hockey team returns to Hockey East play this weekend with a two-game series against Merrimack. The Eagles are set to host the Warriors at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 11 at Kelley Rink before a 4 p.m. tilt on Saturday, Feb. 12 at Lawler Rink.

Friday's contest between the Eagle and Warriors will air live on NESN. All Hockey East games this season will be made available across the U.S. and internationally on SportsLive, while all games televised on NESN and NESN+ and other select matchups will also be made available on CBSSports.com and the CBS Sports app outside of New England.

• Merrimack enters the weekend at 5-21-1 overall with a mark of 4-17-1 in Hockey East play … the Warriors played at Providence on Tuesday night, falling in a hard-fought 4-3 game.
• Katie Kaufman (9-3-12) and Teghan Inglis (8-4-12) lead the Warriors with 12 points each … Courtney Maud (3-7-10) has a team-leading seven helpers … Inglis has a team-leading two game-winning goals while also sitting second in shots on goal (58) and blocked shots (47).
• Emma Gorski has played the majority of the minutes between the pipes, going 5-20-1 with a .893 save percentage, 3.23 goals against average and three shutouts.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST MERRIMACK
• BC is 19-1-0 all-time against Merrimack ... the Warriors became a D1 team and joined Hockey East in 2015-16.
• The Eagles are 10-0-0 at Kelley Rink and 9-1-0 at Lawler Rink.
• The teams met in the Hockey East opener for both squads back on Oct. 9, 2021, with BC picking up a 2-1 win in North Andover.

• Abby Newhook leads Hockey East, is second in the nation and tops among all rookies with six game-winning goals ... she is the first Hockey East rookie to score at least six game-winning goals in a season since Boston University's Sarah Lefort scored seven during the 2012-13 season.
• Newhook has 10 multi-point outings this year, including two multi-goal games, and has scored in eight consecutive games.

• Harvard took an early 1-0 lead but BC went on to tie the game on four separate occasions ... it was the first time since at least the 1996-97 season that BC fought back to tie a game on four different times.
• Maddie Crowley-Cahill scored twice while Caroline Goffredo had a career-high three points on one goal and two assists ... Abby Newhook scored to extend her goal-scoring streak to eight games while Alexie Guay's helper moved her point streak to eight games and gave her 50 career points.
• Abbey Levy finished with 50 saves - and 99 across both tournament games - to earn the Bertagna Award as the tournament's top goalie.
• BC now has 11 Bertagna Award winners in program history, five more than the next closest school.
