BC To Host NIVC Semifinals

Will face Southern Miss, winner will advance to NIVC Championship and take on Drake or Davidson
Chestnut Hill, Mass – Boston College gets set to take on Southern Miss on Saturday at 4 p.m at the Margot Connell Recreation Center in the Semifinals of the National Invitational Volleyball Championship. The Eagles set a new program record with their 22nd win of the season on Wednesday evening against Xavier. The winner of Saturday's match will advance to the NIVC finals to take on the winner of Drake and Davidson which will be played on Sunday at 1 p.m. BC's match against Southern Miss will be broadcasted on ACC Network Extra. Per NIVC rules, general admission tickets will be required to attend and can be purchased on our website.
The Eagles so far…
BC Volleyball is now 22-13 on the season after wins against Buffalo, St. John's and Xavier in the NIVC. On Wednesday against the Musketeers, it came down to the wire in a thrilling five setter. After going down 2-1 in the match and 9-4 in set four, the Eagles once again showed their mental fortitude and composure to rally back and keep their season alive. Seniors Silvia Ianeselli (Trento Italy) and Izzy Clavenna (Dallas, Texas) led the way for BC, Ianeselli recorded her third double-double of the season with a season high 15 kills and 16 digs and Clavenna added 14 kills as well. Junior Alayna Crabtree (Normal, Ill) also played very well, she tallied 14 kills and a career high 17 digs for her sixth double-double of the season. Head Coach Jason Kennedy is now tied for the all time coaching wins record at BC with 80 in just five seasons on The Heights and will have a chance to break the record in over one less season then the previous record holder, former Head Coach Andrea Leonard who was BC's coach for seven seasons.

Southern Miss: Saturday will be the first match ever between the two programs. The Golden Eagles finished the season 18-11 on the season and 10-6 in conference play. So far in the NIVC they have wins against Alabama State, UT Martin, and Western Carolina.
