Gauthier Honored as Hockey East Player of the Week

AMESBURY, Mass. – Freshman forward Cutter Gauthier was honored as the Hockey East Player of the Week by the league on Monday.Â
Gauthier had a four-point performance for the Eagles on Friday in a 9-6 victory over rival Boston University in the 288th Battle of Comm Ave at Kelley Rink. The rookie scored two goals and added two assists against the Terriers, finishing the night with six shots on goal.Â
Gauthier now leads Hockey East and ranks third nationally in goals per game with 10 tallies in 13 contests. He sits fourth in the league in points per game following the first semester and has four multi-point games to his credit.Â
Last week, Gauthier was named the Hockey East Rookie of the Week as well as the Hockey East Rookie of the Month for November.
Gauthier is currently competing with sophomore defenseman Aidan Hreschuk at training camp in Michigan for the U.S. National Junior Team. Both are auditioning to represent the U.S. in the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship Dec. 26, 2022 – Jan. 5, 2023 in Moncton, New Brunswick and Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Boston College (6-5-4, 5-3-3 HEA) returns to action on Dec. 30-31 with a two-game series at Arizona State.Â
