BC Announces Class of '23 Recruits

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Boston College Softball has announced that five student-athletes have signed their National Letter of Intent to join the Eagles in the Fall of 2023, according to Head Coach Amy Kvilhaug. This nationally ranked class (#26 according to Extra Inning Softball) will be coming from all different parts of the country, with one player coming from Georgia, one from Louisiana, and three from California.

Joining the Eagles are INF/OF Katelyn Deguire of Atlanta, Ga., INF Emma Jackson of San Jose, Calif., RHP Addison Jackson of St. Amant, La., OF Sammy Horn of Novato, Calif., and INF Allison Robinson of Modesto, Calif.

Coach Kvilhaug on the '23 class: "We are excited about the athleticism, versatility, and depth the 2023 class will bring to the program. They are determined to come in and continue to elevate the level of play here at BC. Many of them have played for some of the nation's top travel ball teams and have competed for championships both at the high school and national level. I absolutely love their drive and level of competitiveness."

Coach K on Katelyn: "We have been watching Katelyn play at the highest level for a few years now and believe she has the potential to be a key contributor to our lineup. She has a good amount of versatility, is comfortable on the infield and in the outfield, and will only continue to get stronger as she develops in our program. I love that she has faced high level pitching both at the high school and travel ball level for many years as I think it will allow her to have a smooth transition to our level."

Allison "Gator" Robinson, INF, Modesto, Calif.

Coach K on Allison: "Gator is super athletic and absolutely loves to compete. We are excited about the energy and karma she brings to the table. She is such a team player. We will look to Gator to strengthen the left side of our infield defensively and hit both for average and power. Her experience playing on one of the premier teams in the country is key. We love athletes who compete for championships."

Sammy Horn, OF/INF, Novato, Calif.

Ranked T-59th in 2023 class nationally by Extra Inning Softball

Coach K on Sammy: "Sammy has great energy and determination about her. As with many of her incoming teammates, Sammy has such versatility with the ability to play 2B or the OF. Hitting from the left side, we are excited about her speed and ability to create on offense. Sammy and Gator play together so will have a cool teammate connection coming in. She had a great summer playing for Firecrackers Rico, one of the top programs in the country."

Addison "AJ" Jackson, RHP/INF, St. Amant, La.

Coach K on Addison: "AJ has so much to offer as an athlete. We project her to pitch, hit, and play the field for us. There isn't an athlete who will out work Addison. She is super meticulous in her training and determined to contribute to the success of the program."

Emma Jackson, INF, San Jose, Calif.

Attended Salesian College Preparatory in Richmond, Calif.
Played travel ball for Warrior Academy McDonald 18u
Ranked 82nd in 2023 class nationally by Extra Inning Softball

Coach K on Emma: "Emma has such a high ceiling and I really think she has the potential to be an impact player for us. She has so many tools. As a slapper, she offers speed and some power. Defensively she can play several positions and we are hopeful she will find herself either up the middle or in the OF for us."
