Abby Newhook Earns Hockey East Co-Player of the Week Honors

Abby Newhook was named Co-Player of the Week after a three-goal weekend.
AMESBURY, Mass. – Boston College forward Abby Newhook has been named the Hockey East Co-Player of the Week, as announced on Monday by the league.

Newhook scored three goals over a two-win weekend for BC, including both game-winning goals in a sweep of New Hampshire. The sophomore scored twice in Friday night's home win for her third career multi-goal game. On Saturday at the Whittemore Center, Newhook wired home the game-winning goal 44 seconds into overtime.

The St. John's, Newfoundland native also registered eight shots on goal of the weekend in addition to a plus-2 rating and one blocked shot.

This is the first career Player of the Week honor of Newhook after earning six Rookie of the Week awards last season. Providence's Sara Hjalmarsson was the other co-player of the week.
