Eagles made history with main draw victory on Wednesday
CARY, N.C. -- The No. 1 Doubles Pairing of Laura Lopez and Marice Aguiar won their first round matchup at the All-American Doubles Championship on Wednesday afternoon, taking down a team from the University of Tennessee in straight sets. Seeded No. 5 in the main draw, the Tennessee pair of Rebeca Mertena and Esther Adeshina fell in straight sets to Lopez and Aguiar, marking the first time a Boston College women's doubles team has ever advanced to the second round of the All-American Main Doubles Draw.Â
The dominant fall campaign continues for Laura Lopez and Marice Aguiar, who placed second at the ITHF Women's College Invitational two weeks ago. After their 6-3, 6-3 win on Wednesday, the duo advanced to face a team from Texas A&M on Thursday, falling 7-5, 6-3 to Carson Branstine and Jayci Goldsmith.Â
The fall season continues at Super Regionals from October 21-23 at Yale.Â
