Eagles Prepare for Carolina Road Trip

BC now sitting at 13-7 on the season get set to take on North Carolina and NC State
CHESTNUT HILL, MASS – Boston College heads back out on the road this weekend for another ACC road trip, this time to North Carolina as they get set to take on the Tar Heels on Friday and the NC State Wolfpack on Sunday. Friday's match against North Carolina will be broadcasted on ACC Network.Â
The Eagles So Far…Â
BC now currently standing at 13-7 on the season and 1-5 in the ACC, dropped both of their matches this past weekend against Louisville and Notre Dame. Sunday's match against the Fighting Irish was a particularly tough loss, while losing 3-1, the match felt a whole lot closer as the first set came down to an intense back and forth after deuce at 24-24 with BC coming up just short losing 29-27. After each of the sides traded wins in sets two and three, set four was another one of those where it felt like it really could have gone either way but the Fighting Irish showed some impressive poise and composure late in the set winning three straight points after going down 23-22. The Eagles as a team currently stand at sixth in the ACC in hitting percentage at .233 and first in the conference in total kills at 994. They also lead the conference in total assists on the season and are third in assists per set at 12.57. They have played some very good defense at the net as well this season, leading the conference in total blocks as a team at 175 and fourth in blocks per set at 2.33. BC is also third in the ACC in total service aces on the season and fourth in aces per set.Â

North Carolina: Friday's match will be the 26th matchup in each program's history, North Carolina is 24-1 against Boston College all time. The Tar Heels are currently 10-7 overall on the season and 2-4 in the ACC.Â
NC State: Sunday's matchup will also be the 26th time the two schools have met, NC State is 14-11 against the Eagles all time. The Wolfpack currently sit at 10-7 on the season as well and are 4-2 in the conference.
