BC to Face No. 3 Northeastern in First Round of 43rd Beanpot

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women's hockey team will face the host school and third-ranked Northeastern on Tuesday night in the first round of the 43rd Women's Beanpot Semifinal. Puck drop of the second semifinal of the day is set for 7:30 p.m., following the conclusion of the Boston University-Harvard semifinal at 4 p.m.

All four games of the tournament will air live on NESN+, and fans outside of New England can stream the games on SportsLive.

• The Eagles won their first Beanpot in 2006 ... BC was the Beanpot champion in 2006, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
• BC has appeared in seven of the last 10 championship games and 13 of the last 20, missing the final in 2004, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2019 and 2020.
• In the most recent edition of the Beanpot in 2020, the Eagles fell to Boston University in the first round but went on to defeat a No. 10 Harvard squad in the third-place game.
• This marks the 25th overall meeting between BC and Northeastern in the Beanpot tournament and the 16th with both teams at varsity status … BC is 5-2-1 against Northeastern in the first round as a varsity squad.
• The teams last met in the Beanpot in the 2019 consolation game, with BC picking up a 4-1 win.
• Kelly Browne is BC's active scoring leader in the Beanpot with three points (1-2-3) in four games ... Hannah Bilka (1-0-1), Alexie Guay (1-0-1) and Jillian Fey (0-1-1) have each registered a point in the tournament.

ABOUT BOSTON COLLEGE
• Boston College picked up a 3-1 road win at UConn on Friday night ... Abigail Levy made 44 saves for the win while Caroline Goffredo, Natalie Tulchinsky and Abby Newhook scored.
• BC also hosted Providence College on Tuesday Jan. 25, topping the Friars 4-2 ... four different Eagles scored, including Hannah Bilka and Newhook with three-point nights.
• Last weekend, BC played a home-and-home series with Holy Cross and got a 4-1 win at home on Friday and a 3-1 road win on Saturday...Alexie Guay and Newhook each scored in both contests while Kelly Browne racked up five assists while eclipsing 100 career points.
• BC sits at 14-11-0 overall with a mark of 12-8-0 in Hockey East play.

• Northeastern had its 20-game unbeaten streak snapped in its only game last week, falling to Vermont, 2-1, at Matthews Arena on Friday afternoon.
• The third-ranked Huskies stand at 21-3-1 overall on the year.
• Graduate student Maureen Murphy leads Northeastern with 30 points on the year, scoring a team-leading 15 goals while adding 15 assists … Skylar Fontaine has chipped in 28 points from the blue line off of four goals and a team-high 24 helpers.
