SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Boston College women's basketball team suffered a 74-61 defeat to No. 18/20 Notre Dame on Sunday afternoon in Purcell Pavilion.Â
The Eagles fall to 14-7 and 5-5 in the ACC, while Notre Dame improves to 16-4 and 7-2 in the conference.Â
Cameron Swartz scored a team-high 18 points to go along with seven rebounds and three assists. Swartz went perfect at the line hitting all seven of her free throw attempts. The senior extended her career-long streak to nine straight games with 10 or more points. Taylor Soule chipped with 11 points to round out the leading scorers and corralled seven off the glass. Jaelyn Batts was one of three players to lead the team with seven rebounds.Â
The Fighting Irish started on an 8-2 run in the first 2:40 of the contest before the Eagles responded with a run of their own, scoring 10 of the next 12 points. Soule and Swartz scored all 10 points, highlighted by seven straight from Swartz to give BC a 12-10 edge. Both teams traded baskets in the final minutes of the frame, which led to a 14-14 tie going into the second quarter.Â
