Eagles Begin Year at Sorlein Memorial Invitational

The team picked up several first places finishes at the University of Rhode Island
KINGSTON, R.I. – The Boston College women's indoor track and field team returned to competition in 2022 at the Sorlein Memorial Invitational hosted by the University of Rhode Island at the Mackal Field House on Saturday, Jan. 15.
In the field events, Sophie Albright (1.65m) tied for third place in the high jump, and Isabella Bruno (11.33m) earned second in the triple jump.
The team's initial first-place finish came when Maureen Lewin finished the 800m in a time of 2:20.60.
In the 1,000m, Anna Oeser crossed the finish line in second place with a time of 2:51.51. Paige Carter was close behind in fifth at 2:56.49.
In the mile run, Lauren White (4:50.15) and Katherine Mitchell (4:50.60) locked down first and second place.
Caroline McClelland also secured first in the 3,000m in a time of 10:18.59.
Other notable finishes from the day included Kyla Krawczyk (26.44) completing the 200m finals, Jolene Murphy (59.60) finishing fourth in the 400m, and Marne Sullivan (1:19.08) earning fifth in the 500m.
The Eagles concluded the track events for the day with a first and third-place finish in the 4x800m relay. The A-team included Paige Carter, Katherine Mitchell, Anna Oeser, and Lauren White, finishing in a time of 9:01.48. The B-team consisted of Roshni Singh, Sarah Heckel, Maureen Lewin, and Kayla Smith with a time of 9:39.21.

The Eagles will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 22 at the Battle in Beantown hosted by Boston University.
