
Eagles Top Brown in Four Sets

BC starts 2-0 in the Bryant Invitational
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Boston College volleyball continued their success at the Bryant Tournament with a victory over Brown University on Saturday morning. The Eagles took the match in four sets to stay undefeated on the season.

BC took the early lead in the first set, with a 7-4 run to start the match. After the Bears evened the score at 10, the teams continued to exchange the lead before the Eagles pulled away to win the first set with a 25-22 score.

The Eagles came out strong in the second set but were unable to hold off their opponent as Brown came from behind to even the match at one set each.

The third set was all BC as they started with a 6-0 run to take a dominating lead. They led by as many as 8 before taking the set 25-17.

BC took the first points of the fourth set and kept the lead to take the set by a score of 25-22. They hit a match high 0.433 in their last set with 15 kills as a team.

Katrina Jense (Temecula, Ca.) led the offense with 18 kills, while Anna Murphy (Zionsville, Ind.) paced the defense with 15 digs. Sophomores Sophia Lambros (Fullerton, Ca.) and Grace Penn (Manhattan Beach, Ca.) contributed 25 and 18 assists respectively in Saturday's win.

Amaka Chukwujekwu added 13 kills and hit 0.733 for the match.

The Eagles will conclude their tournament Saturday evening with a match against the host team, Bryant University.
