Eagles Open Fall Season at Dartmouth Invitational

Boston College competed against four other schools at Dartmouth
HANOVER, N.H. — The Boston College men's tennis team opened the fall season at the Dartmouth Invitational last weekend, where it competed against Dartmouth, Bryant, Monmouth, and Yale in individual singles and doubles matches on Saturday and Sunday.
The Eagles' Juan Jose Bianchi took home victories in both of his singles matches over the weekend, defeating Dartmouth's Hikaru Takeda in straight sets (7-5, 6-4), and Alex Knox-Jones 6-2, 4-6, 6-4. Bianchi's success continued into doubles play, teaming up with Max Motlagh for two more victories, defeating Dartmouth's duos of Alejandro Quiles and Hikaru Takeda (6-0) and Andy Ilie and Knox-Jones (6-0).
Motlagh strung together a successful weekend, pairing with Bianchi and sophomore Bennett Turner for a perfect 3-0 doubles performance. Motlagh and Turner defeated Bryant's team of Teague Burger and Andrew Pregel, winning 7-6 (7-4). Motlagh went 2-1 in singles play at the invitational, defeating Teague Burger of Bryant 6-3, 6-0, and Andy Ilie of Dartmouth 6-3, 6-4, while falling to Alejandro Quiles of Dartmouth 6-4, 6-2.
Turner added two singles wins of his own, defeating Bryant's Andrew Pregel 6-4, 7-6 and Trejio 6-4, 7-6. Sophomore Shreekar Eedara added to the win total with a singles victory over Dartmouth's Takeda, winning 7-5, 6-1.
The Eagles will resume action in two weeks at the MIT Invite, competing in Cambridge, Massachusetts on October 8 and 9.
