
Eagles Secure Two Top Five Finishes Across Four Regattas

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Boston College sailing secured two top-five finishes across four regattas this past weekend, tying for third in the Pine Trophy regatta hosted by Coast Guard, and placing fifth in the Toni Deutsch '58 Regatta hosted by M.I.T. The Eagles also finished tenth in the in-conference regatta for the Harry Anderson Jr. Trophy and competed in the Tufts invite on Saturday.

The Eagles' best finish of the weekend came in New London, Connecticut for the Pine Trophy, tying for third place with the Bears of Brown University with a total score of 51. Skipper Jack DeNatale and crew Laura Ferraris, Declan McGranahan, and Charles Roseberry achieved a third-place finish in the penultimate race to secure their place in the top three.

In the Toni Deutsch '58 Regatta on the Charles River, the Eagles narrowly edged out the Dartmouth Big Green for a place in the top five, finishing with 211 total points to Dartmouth's 212. Boston College's top division team, comprised of Michaela O'Brien and Elizabeth Redmond, finished fourth with 76 total points, while the Eagles' second unit of Sara Schumann and Elizabeth Shanahan totaled 135 points.

Boston College sailing will resume action this weekend, competing in four events: the NEISA Singlehanded Championships, the Regis Trophy Regatta, the Hatch Brown Trophy Regatta, and the Barnett Trophy Regatta.
