Volleyball Sweeps Past Rhode Island

Eagles make quick work of Rams, move to 10-1.
KINGSTON, R.I. -- The Boston College volleyball team swept Rhode Island, 3-0, on the road Sunday evening. The Eagles improved to 10-1, while the Rams dropped to 5-7. BC won in straight sets by scores of 25-14, 25-16 and 25-21.
Graduate outside hitter Clare Naughton (Atlanta, Ga.) netted her match-high 14th kill of the day on match-point to secure the win. In her first career start, freshman middle blocker Jenna Pollock (St. Catharines, Ont.) netted 11 kills on a .333 attack rate with three blocks.
Sophomore outside hitter Alayna Crabtree (Normal, Ill.) contributed on both sides of the ball with eight digs and seven kills. Freshman setter Jane Petrie (San Diego, Calif.) dished out 25 assists in her first career start.
The Eagles return to action on Friday for two matches in Ann Arbor, Mich, beginning at 10 a.m. against Dayton.
