Eagles Bounce Back With Win Over Fordham

Volleyball finishes weekend 2-1 with four-set victory.
QUEENS, N.Y. -- The Boston College volleyball team wrapped up its weekend at the Jack Kaiser Classic with a 3-1 win over Fordham on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles won a marathon first, 32-30, before finishing the day with scores of 25-19, 24-26 and 25-16.
Graduate outside hitter Clare Naughton (Atlanta, Ga.) tallied her fourth straight double-double with a team-high 17 kills and 10 digs. Graduate middle blocker Amaka Chukwujekwu (Laurel, Md.) hit .524 with 13 kills, while junior right side Izzy Clavenna (Dallas, Texas) hit .478 with 13 kills.
Sophomore setter Grace Penn (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) dished out a career-high 31 assists. Freshman setter Jane Petrie (San Diego, Calif.) came on in the second set and totaled 24 assists.
Boston College returns to action tomorrow at Rhode Island.
