What is your favorite memory about your time as an Eagle, on or off the ice?
I definitely have to pick a top two! First, the 2017 Hockey East Tournament and overtime win (over Northeastern) was unforgettable, especially because it led to a trip to the Frozen Four with an amazing team. Also, I'll always be grateful to have made my first start with my brother in the stands at his home rink at Holy Cross. He was, and is, a role model for me in many ways and especially throughout our hockey careers, so it meant a lot to have him and lots of family there for that moment.
What are you most proud of from your time as an Eagle?
I'm very proud that our team, and BC student-athletes in general, sought out many different ways to make a difference in our community. Ending up at BC is such a blessing, and I'm happy that we were able to take all the good we received and use it to positively impact the lives of others.
What advice would you give to your college self or current Eagles?
I would tell myself to never take a day for granted and to make the most of every moment because you never know when or how things are going to change. Also, I would tell myself to write down more memories to look back on!
Where do you currently live and what do you do?
I am about to move into Boston as I am starting a teaching fellowship at Nativity Preparatory School Boston. I'll also be pursuing my Master's in Secondary Education at BC during the fellowship, so I'm excited to stay connected to the Heights in that regard as well.
How did your collegiate career prepare you for life after college?
The biggest lessons I took away from college hockey were how to be a good teammate and leader. Coach York once came and spoke to us about being an all-star in your role. I always tried to have that in mind during my time at BC and will continue to on any team I join in the future. Also, BC taught me how important it is to strive to be a "woman for others" in my career and beyond.
What personal or professional accomplishments are you most proud of since you graduated from Boston College?
The past year was a mentally challenging one for many, and I'm proud that I was able to fight through that and make changes to my professional trajectory in order to be happy and fulfilled. I'm beyond excited to be pursuing a career in education and proud to be starting a fellowship at Nativity Prep.
How are you still involved with hockey?
I really enjoy skating with other alumni! I was also able to get involved with Massachusetts Hockey this summer, and hope to coach as a teacher in the future.
What Eagle teams or athletes have you enjoyed watching since you graduated?
I'll always keep up with women's hockey, and hopefully will be able to see some games at Conte this year! I also grew up going to football and men's hockey games, so I can't wait to attend in the future and reconnect with friends at tailgates and games. Also, the women's lacrosse run was incredible! It was so fun to watch them earn and lift that National Championship trophy. Congratulations!
