Ellie Mataya Named to ACC All-Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Boston College junior outfielder Ellie Mataya was named to the All-ACC Academic Team announced on Monday.

Mataya was named to the All-ACC second team for the first time in her career in May as well.

The Virginia native finished the season as BC's leading batter. She led the team in batting average (.373), at bats (153), runs (20), hits (57), doubles (9), triples (3), total bases (78), slugging percentage (.510), on-base percentage (.411) and stolen bases (12-for-12).

She finished the regular season ranked sixth in the ACC in hits, eighth in the conference in batting, 11^th in doubles and sixth in triples.

Mataya's .373 average tied for eighth in BC single-season history. She tied for ninth in school history in triples in 2021.

Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.

The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
